Lots of homework

Okay, first grade was very easy, Math/English homework to be turned in once a week, minimal stuff, some spelling words for Friday, a spelling test, and... that was about it. I did a lot of extra stuff with Ella at home to supplement and make sure she was on top of everything.

Second grade is a completely different story: Math homework every day (mostly pretty easy stuff, the tests are the more difficult ones), a ton spelling activities and quizes, reading, story mapping, math club, and the list goes on. Add this to the daily piano practice and preparation for the ABRSM exams and you have one extremely busy little 2nd grader and mother. Oh boy!

I'm just proud of her, of how hard she works to stay abreast and do well but I have to wonder how long before we both get burned out?!?!!!

  1. Oh, wow, that's a lot of homework! Alexandra's in 4th grade (they start a year earlier here than in the US) and still gets homework only once a week - combined maths and literacy. This makes me want to reconsider moving back to the US. ;)
We are preparing for the ABRSM violin grade 1 Exam at the end of November! :) Good luck to Ella! And to you mommy - don't get burned out! :)
