Recovering

Thanks so much everyone for your nice words, prayers, and thoughts for my dad. He is recovering well and I was able to talk to him for a little bit this morning. It was really wonderful to hear his voice! It gave me more confidence that he would recover completely so we can see each other soon. I feel like I'm getting my "spunk" back little by little and it feels good.

What else we've been up to?

1. Season opening at Dallas Children's Theater with "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day."

2. Still going strong with swimming. My heart swells up watching Ella do so well. Boy, she is competitive too. Last night it was just her and a little boy. She watched that little kiddo like a hawk (lol!) and always made sure she came in first. Ha-ha! She loves working hard and for that I'm so proud of her. Yesterday she learned the 'dolphin' kick using the kickboard and continued practising her backstroke.

(I have this urge to get back to swimming and exercising. I did work out three times last week in Omaha but need to get back on a training schedule. I want things to go back to normal and this is part of my normality.)
3. And we got her school picture back! It turned out great, I think. Sweet barely-there smile, she's got!

Fondue mainly

Yup, that's what Ella wanted to make this afternoon. Since she had the day off from school, mommy worked from home and we got to spend some more quality time together. So she guided me through the process of melting the chocolate, washing and carefully arranging the fruit on her little princess platter, and then doing the fun part: DIPPING! She used bamboo skewers to dip the fruit into the chocolate. I just love my fancy Ella!!

(I had a couple of strawberries and grapes too, hopefully that doesn't tip the weighing scale tomorrow. Because looking at the weighing scale over the past two days and seeing this----->

has sure made me happy.

And another thing that makes me happy right now is fitting in size 4 jeans/pants. I have never ever been a size 4 before, so you get the idea. :)

Totally random, but in line with things that make onevery  happy is that this past week we've been going to the pool almost every day. Daddy's been out of town and that was a fun way to end the school and work day.

Karekars: the Olympic Family... (Fun and funny!!!)

Since we have so much fun every Monday when we go in for our swim classes, changing in the family locker room, cracking up jokes about our swim caps and goggles, and just messing around, we decided to snap a couple of pictures just to capture the moment :) We think we look really funny with our matching gear!

One more: with goggles on!

Seriously, the whole entire family LOVES their swimming classes. And while we're still beginners, I have faith that somehow someday we'll make ok swimmers!

Yesterday I realized that I can swim almost half lap while holding my breath. How can I possibly fill up my lungs even more so I can do a whole lap without taking a breath?? You see, when I turn my head to the side to take a breath, I mess up everything: stroke, kick, and overall body balance. Ughhh! Both Hrishi and I are currently having this same little problem. We're going back tomorrow to practise and will report at a later date on the progress, if any is made! Ha-ha!!!

October Birthday!

Ella turns 12!!!!! Lots of milestones: graduated from Primary, moved into Young Women's, got her temple recommend. She is such an a...
