We're really happy that we have gotten a couple of donations for the FARE walk via our donation website. http://www.foodallergywalk.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=1061763&team=5574257. I'm grateful for the close friends and family who opened their purse with generosity because every little penny counts. I know that there are many great causes out there, some closer to our hearts than others. This one affects our family so profoundly though and I truly hope that we can pull more support and funds over the next couple of weeks. I'm also very hopeful, as Ella and Rishi are too, that neighbors and others will stop by the cupcake stand this Saturday.
The flyers are going out. We still have a bunch to post tonight and tomorrow night. We'll also have FARE materials available to spread the word about the walk, the FARE organization and what we stand for. Our overall goal is to raise $500 until Sept 7th when the Walk is. So far we have raised $110.
This evening our boy is being moved to Del Lago Sports Horses in Magnolia. Last night we went to Sienna to pack up our tack room and gave him some love. He was happy to see us and gorge on all the delicious apples we cut up for him. We made some good memories at Sienna but it's now time to move on and forward with Heather and offer Ella the learning opportunities she needs to grow as a rider and prepare to compete at the USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) "A/AA" sanctioned shows. We're very proud of how she rides and takes care of her pony. She really does all the hard work although last night, as I try so many other times, I brushed him real good to avoid her being around all the hair that comes off. Just in case she has horse hair allergies. We will find out for sure in a couple of weeks when she gets tested. We're praying hard that it won't be the case... our beautiful little parakeets are also in question (as she might have feather allergies.) Boy, oh boy... .
