After my race, I was really looking forward to a pretty low key relaxed week, well not really but just having to do the day-to-day office and house work. Until I got a phone call from the second counselor in the bishopric asking if I could talk in Sacrament this past Sunday. Of course I could. In fact, that would be great as I would get to "warm up" for my Relief Society lesson that I had to prepare for the same Sunday. So it wasn't going to be relaxing week. Ella got sick with a cold which made for a few almost sleepless nights, then I had the bug for a day which put me behind in everything, but somehow things came together and I was able to finish my talks.
My topic for the Sacrament talk was "The Enabling Power of the Atonement", a really wonderful one for which I got to re-read and study Elder Bednar's talks "In the Strength of the Lord" and get a better understanding how I can possibly get additional strength through the Atonement to become the better "everything" that I plan to, and the Lord's loving grace that I so much need every day. I'm really glad that I was called to speak on this topic, as I learned a lot.
In Relief Society, being the second Sunday of the month, I taught Lesson #4 from Teachings of Lorenzo Snow. I love that manual and my sisters in RS who always share personal experiences and thoughts and make my teaching so much more easier to do!! :) I received additional testimonies of the truth of the principles taught and that's always the best part of getting to teach!
After church, we had lunch and took a quick nap after which we packed some turkey hot dogs and stuff for s'mores and headed out to Brazos Bend State park, one of our favorite spots to relax and unwind. Shu and Andrea joined us for an evening of fun: we soaked in the beautiful nature spots, climbed trees, and had a yummy little dinner.
I love the Spanish moss draping the trees so beautifully.
(These girls sure had a lot of fun jumping off trees! :))
I was responsible for the food, figures! :) We had turkey hot dogs and chicken apple sausage. Really good stuff.
Hrishi playing a little bit of cricket, I can tell that he's still got it!! :)
Ella carefully prepping the s'mores under my supervision, notice my pointing finger, ha-ha!!
Ella went low carb and dropped the graham crackers. Being on my 14-days-of-no-added-sugar thingy, I only had a couple of graham cracker squares.
The beautiful very large and interesting tree we took over:

Hrishi doing some Parkour. Well, he doesn't but this move I'm sure would qualify!! :)
We saw a beautiful sunset on our drive back. I am just so grateful for lovely quiet nature, and great friends who made that evening so nice.
A perfect way to kick off Spring break.
Ce frumos v-ati distrat!!! Si pozele sunt superbe! Te pup!
