Artistic Debut

This week Ella came home excited about her art class, well more excited than usual, the reason being that her teacher Mrs. Anderson selected one her drawings for an exhibit at a local museum. I meant to ask her teacher which museum that was but I kept forgetting. Well, on Thursday night was open house at school and I got to meet Mrs. Anderson and ask her where that was.

Well, today we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science and had the pleasure of seeing one of Ella's creations hanging in the Children's Gallery.

It is her rainbow fish.

Needless to say that we are so proud and happy for her. She is one amazing little girl.

A couple of newer pieces she brought home from school:

And while we were there, we had a lot of fun exploring dinosaurs skeletons, all kinds of fossils, quartz, and other really neat things. It is a joy to see her enthusiasm about all things science and earth. She loved it so much that we got an annual membership. The neat thing is that it gives us access to the Sugar Land branch of the museum in our neck of the woods, as well as to the large museum downtown Houston, and to the George Observatory at Brazos Bend state park. She's already made a play date with a little friend to take there on Spring break.

Lots of beautiful things there,  God and man-made.

I love museums and I'm so glad that we have one so close to us.
