Happenings (BIG KID RIDING BIKE WITH NO TRAINING WHEELS, woohoo!!)

Look who's come to live at our house?

They are so cute and bring much joy to Ella and to all of us with their happy chirping and singing. We love them dearly: Cloudy and Explorer. (I used to own birds when growing up in Romania, canaries and parakeets.)

Spring break has been so nice, not having to rush to after-school activities and even have a day off on Tuesday when we headed to the Rodeo. We had a great time!
(I'll probably make a separate entry for that.)

Ella surprised us on Saturday evening, when after months of not practicing to ride her bike without training wheels, just took off and did an amazing job riding her bike!! I was out running some errands so Hrishi captured it all on video. It was just amazing how quickly she got it. Now she wants to ride her bike every where. This morning she rode her bike to school. We are so proud of her. I know that many children her age or much younger had been riding bikes with no training wheels but for her to get it just so fast and with no practice, it's pretty amazing.

She was excited to show me right after church, as I hadn't seen her ride!!

Most beautiful than them all.

Bluebonnets are just so special.

And so is my sweetheart!

Happy momma, focused girl!

She loves riding her bike and is been riding to and from school pretty much every day this past week and a half. And she got a pretty spiffy new bike that she's very proud of!

Now we're looking forward to Easter. Ella is working on this neat Easter activity from the Friend magazine and I think it's a good way to bring the meaning of Easter to the forefront as we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior this weekend. How grateful I am for Him! We'll coloring eggs and making our traditional Easter bunny cake. This year I get Ella a few little things to put in her Easter basket. The peanot chocolate bunnies and chocolate eggs she's already seen and tried as I had to order them in advance but I still have a few things I will surprise her with.

We got a new equestrian trainer, a world champion and record holder and we're excited to see Ella learn and grow her skills under such a prestigious trainer. More to come on that. We've realized that even though she had and has a lot of talent, some basic skills were left out from her previous training but she'll get up to speed soon. As with all things in life, everything happens for the best.
