Things lately

I can say taking a break from the workforce has been a good thing for me. I've been feeling still extremely busy but with other things that needed my attention (doctor's appointments, paperwork, house organization, etc.) It's been so wonderful having mom and dad here with us to help and support. They are amazing. They've been doing so much, from all the nice meals, cleaning, laundry, to waking up bright early mornings and taking the 5 o'clock feeding/burping/changing shift.

Ella is doing great with school. We're very proud of her hard work and desire to learn and grow. She's reading her first big chapter book, Alison Hart's "Gabriel and the Horses," which is thoroughly enjoying. She hasn't ventured too much in the chapter books arena before so we're glad she's finding something she likes to keep her interested and going back to read. I love the book too.

She's found a new "passion", downhill scootering on a cardboard box. It's a date her favorite classmate Viola almost every Sunday afternoon.

She's still working on getting that handsome pony of hers to listen and trot instead of cantering off like a race horse. Can I tell you how fast my heart starts beating when he does that? Luckily so far, she's been sticking it in the saddle with no falls.

 He's cute as a button but it's got some real "horsepower."

We had some crazy weather here last Friday and we're getting some more tomorrow.

This is truly a rarity of nature in these parts of the Texas country. But mind you that we had 70 F on Sunday when in the afternoon we ventured to plant some beautiful Spring flowers. Now if they can survive what's coming tomorrow (freezing rain), we're good.

And with the bad weather, school was off and a lot of fun was had at home.

We took advantage of the lovely weather and went out to Brazos Bend state park for a picnic and fishing. We had a great time.
