A recent conversation with a friend stirred some thoughts on kindness, on being uplifting in our conversations, and just sensitive to others' needs, ideas, and circumstances. Sometimes we may not realize that a word we said may have put somebody down, may have brought in the negative or the darkness, versus the positive and the light. Life is hard enough on every single one of us. There are daily struggles we have to put up with, demons we have to chase. Wouldn't it be so much easier on us if we tried a tiny bit harder to lift each other up, speak kindly always, be sensitive to each other's feelings and where they're coming from, trying to understand rather than prescribe fixes and give quick advice? And while we may indeed have good advice to give, let's try and do it a little gentler, giving the benefit of the doubt and recognizing that we do not, in fact, know it all!
This sums it all up for me:
